Bord Bia was in Abu Dhabi on Tuesday to promote Ireland’s Origin Green programme at the Global Forum for Innovations in Agriculture (GFIA).
Aidan Cotter spoke about Bord Bia’s Origin Green as part of the opening ceremony of the two-day event on Tuesday. Origin Green runs nationally and focuses on sustainability targets, reducing environmental impact and protecting natural resources.

The Minister of Climate Change and Environment for the Middle East Dr Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi opened the event. Attendees include government officials, international and regional agri-scientists and over 300 were present for Mr Cotter’s presentation.
GFIA is one of the largest and most influential sustainable agriculture shows in the world. Bord Bia’s stand at the exhibition focused on Origin Green and Ireland’s agri-food industry.
Origin Green has 485 Irish food and drink companies signed up to the programme. In terms of farms, more than half of Irish dairy and 90% of Irish beef production comes from farms signed up to the Origin Green programme.
