BPS check deadline looms

Preliminary checks on online Basic Payment Scheme (BPS) applications began a number of weeks ago, allowing farmers to rectify any such non-compliance issues by 19 June.

Farmers have until 19 June to rectify any non-compliance issues in the areas of overclaims, dual claims, and overlaps on their online BPS application.

No penalty will be applied where the non-compliance is fully rectified by that date and preliminary checks can only be applied to online BPS applicants.

Preliminary checks are aimed at reducing penalties on farmer payments. Full administrative checks are still required before payment issues.
