According to Met Éireann, heavy persistent rain over northern parts will clear this morning but it will remain dull for most parts today with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle and misty conditions on hills and along exposed coasts. A few brighter spells may develop in the east this afternoon. Mild and blustery with highest temperatures 12°C to 14°C in strong and gusty southwest winds. There is a yellow wind warning in place for counties Wexford, Donegal, Galway, Leitrim, Mayo, Sligo, Clare, Cork, Kerry, Limerick and Waterford. The warning is due to remain in place until Wednesday at 8am. Mean speeds 50 to 65 km/hr and gusts to 90 km/hr are forecast.

It will be mild, wet and windy tonight with rain spreading east, and gales affecting western and northern coastal areas. Minimum temperatures of 7°C to 9°C.

  • Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney has confirmed that the supports in respect of the disposal of PI calves under the BVD eradication programme will continue next year. Elsewhere Minister of State, Tom Hayes, announced that the second tranche of the OFS will open on Wednesday 2 December. However, selection criteria will prioritise existing contract holders.
  • Northern Ireland: Agriculture Minister Michelle O’Neill has announced that NI has received approval to export pork to China with additional pork products expected to be approved in the coming months.
