Demand was extremely strong still especially for Angus and Hereford yearling bullocks with the vast majority trading for €2.15 to €2.30/kg.

Friesians weren't as common as recent weeks and were slightly back with most selling from €1.70 upwards with strong O grade types making as much as €1.90/kg

There were 93 heifers on offer with Angus being the dominant breed on offer. Yearlings dominated again this week and made from €2.10 to €2.30/kg with only a handful breaking €2.33/kg. Use of stars for heifers is beginning to creep into heifer sales with a group of three, 5 star Angus heifers weighing 311kg selling for €710, €2.28/kg

Calf numbers were back on last week with just under 500 calves for sale. Friesian bull calves sold from €138 to €160 with stronger calves selling for up to €235. Hereford and Angus bulls prices made from €175 to €370 with heifer calves of these breeds available for similar prices. Continental bull calves sold for up to €460 with heifers making up to €420.

Dry cows were the same as last week with 80 on offer.
