Is butter the new black? Sports Illustrated model and TV presenter Chrissy Teigen seems to think so.
Chrissy shared the image of Kerrygold on her Snapchat account on Saturday, calling it “awesome, salty, sweet” butter.
The model – who has also penned a cookbook – added that the post was not sponsored by Kerrygold. Her endorsement is valuable though. With 8.2m fans on Instagram and 2.57m on Twitter, Teigen has a huge following and this post is bound to result in a few sales.
This isn’t the first time a well-known celebrity has praised Kerrygold online.
In July 2015, Kourtney Kardashian included the butter in a recipe for Rice Krispie treats on her website. The eldest Kardashian’s love of organic and natural food is well documented on her family’s TV show, Keeping Up With the Kardashians, with the mother-of-three’s food choices often mentioned. She has 45.9m followers on Instagram and a further 20.9m on Twitter.
Kerrygold is operated by Ornua (formerly the Irish Dairy Board) and is the number one imported butter in the US and the third most popular brand overall.
