Farmer William Moloney has told the Irish Farmers Journal that his Stallion 50-teat calf feeder was stolen from a field adjacent to his home in Silvermines, Nenagh, Co Tipperary, in the early hours of Monday 21 August.

“It is a Stallion 50-teat calf feeder, but there were only 25 teats on it at the time it was stolen. Twenty of them are black in colour and five of them are white,” says Moloney.

According to Moloney the replacement cost for the piece of equipment is estimated to be in the region of €2,400.

Since reporting it to the gardaí, Moloney has been on the hunt for any information that may lead to the whereabouts of the feeder.

Strange

“We have some CCTV footage showing the robbery taking place at 2am on Monday 21 August. It is a strange piece of equipment to be moving around at this time.

“If the person who has stolen it intends to sell, it will only be half kitted out. If they are buying teats for a feeder, it will also be suspicious at this time. If enough people know about it, they may be able to flag it up,” he said.

Anyone in the general area with CCTV footage or serious information regarding the theft can contact Nenagh Garda station on 067-50450.
