Community resolution notices were handed out to two people who were arrested following separate altercations after Balmoral Show in May, the Dealer has learned.
The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has confirmed that in one case, the complainant did not want to pursue the case any further. A verbal or written apology or paying compensation to a victim are typical examples of such resolutions.
In May, the Dealer heard a number of farmers were taken into custody after up to 30 people were involved in a bust-up after the show. “Police received a report of an altercation in the vicinity of the Halftown Road, Lisburn, on 12 May and another altercation on 11 May. Police made two arrests as a result of the incident on 11 May. Both incidents are not believed to be linked,” a PSNI spokesman said at the time. Case closed.
