Finished cattle remain in tight supply with factory agent activity strong. Lighter store bullocks from 400kg to 500kg are seeing average quality types sell from €2.30/kg to €2.50/kg, with R+/U grades making from €2.60/kg to €2.80/kg.
Demand for heifers continues to be brisk in many areas backed by firm grass buyer demand. Types from 500kg to 600kg are selling mainly from €2.30/kg to €2.40/kg for average quality. There is strong demand also for breeding heifers with a price premium paid for top quality types. R+/U grade heifers from 500kg to 600kg are selling frequently from €2.50/kg to €2.70/kg. Lighter heifers are selling from 400kg to 500kg are still making from €2.40/kg to €2.60/kg for average quality types. The top third are selling from €2.70/kg to €2.90/kg.

Weanlings continue to be a firm trade. Bulls from 300kg to 400kg are selling from €2.45/kg to €2.60/kg for average quality types. Better quality weanling bulls are making from €2.90/kg to €3.15/kg. Light bulls from 200kg to 300kg are said to be an exceptional trade right across the country and are averaging from €2.70/kg to €2.90/kg with better quality types making from €3.10/kg to €3.30/kg.
Like store heifers, weanling heifers continue to be a brisk trade. 300kg to 400kg types are making from €2.50/kg to €2.75/kg for average quality types. The top third are selling up to €3.10/kg. Demand for lighter types is brisk also and prices are averaging from €2.70/kg to €3.00/kg.
