The Irish Farmers Journal understands that the farmer, who is in his 50s, was pinned between a loader and a wall on Saturday evening.

The accident took place on a farm a short distance north of Ballybay.

The farmer was airlifted to Tallaght Hospital in Dublin.

A spokesman for the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) told the the Irish Farmers Journal “a serious, non fatal accident” took place at Dunraimond in the county on Saturday. The spokesman added that a “bobcat ran into a wall and pinned [the farmer] against a wall”.

The HSA will conduct an investigation on Monday.
