The machines on display from Cross Agricultural Engineering at Grass & Muck at Gurteen College next week will include the high output slurry agitator, slurry tankers, muck spreaders, trailing shoe, dribble bar, grass re-seeders, grass rollers, grass scarifiers and GPS grass sowing systems.

Cross will also have a stationary stand at the event where salesmen will be available to talk you through all the features on the company’s machinery.

Cross muck spreaders

Cross have six muck spreader models that range from 6t to 14t. The hp requirements are from 75hp to 120hp. Cross muck spreaders all come with variable speed floor chains, heavy duty back beaters, slurry door, hide-away lights, commercial axle, heavy duty PTO and over-run PTO clutch.

The twin vertical beaters operate through a direct drive rotor gearbox rated at 185hp.

For protection, the gearbox drive is fitted with a shear bolt, and also features a shear collar drive coupling for extra protection. The beaters have four paddles at the base of each rotor that allow even spreading of manure from nine to 12 metres. The beater blades and flights are galvanised for extra protection and a longer life. All of the rest of the components on the machine receive two-pack paint as standard.

The 1400 is the largest model and weighs in at 5,250kg un-laden, giving a total weight of 19,250kg when loaded. This size machine comes standard with 520/70/R 38 tyres on commercial axles. The speed rating for the road should be checked with the manufacturer.
