The trade has been fairly steady here in the past week. Numbers are holding up well, but this has been driven by higher cull cow sales. The store trade has been firm, with farmers still active, but numbers are starting to reduce. The quality of weanlings and stores on offer has been a little more variable in the past week or two, but comparing the same quality animals, prices are firm. There has been an increase in the number of calves coming on offer also. Last summer-born Angus calves are selling at €300 to €400/head, with good-quality Friesian runner calves making up to €300/head.
