Fluke control is important, yet many get some of the basics wrong.

There is no point in dosing for fluke if cows are still outside grazing, or if you had cows in and let them out to clean off a paddock. The message is: wait until the cows are dry and housed before dosing. Also, a lot of farmers are under-dosing for the weight of animals.

Use the right syringe, fill it properly – excluding air – and deliver it all to the cow. Remember: delivering only 50ml of a 60ml syringe could leave the cow 20% short of the required volume. Know the weight of your animal and dose according to ...
