The latest developments in the dairy industry are being discussed in Dublin this week.

The International Dairy Federation (IDF) conference opened this Monday morning and will last for three days.

Dr Noel Crawley, chair of the IDF National Committee of Ireland, greeted 600 international dairy scientists, technologists and process engineers, saying that there have been “significant changes in technological innovation in the sector in recent years”.

Adapting to the market

Also speaking was Kevin Lane, CEO of Ornua, who added that “the ability to innovate and adapt to markets needs are key to developing global opportunities for dairy”.

Improving sustainability at processing level, energy saving and advances in cheese flavour are included on the conference programme, among others.
