Minister for Agriculture Simon Coveney has set the date for the next meeting of the Beef Forum. The group, which is made up of farm organisations as well as Bord Bia, Teagasc and other bodies, will meet in the Department of Agriculture on Tuesday, 21 July.
The forum will discuss proposals brought to them by Teagasc on bull beef production.
The Beef Forum last met in February and sentiment in the sector was much different five months ago. The scars of the 2014 beef price crisis were still raw and prices were still recovering. However, as a shortage of supply continues, prices continue to strengthen for farmers.

Concerns have been raised that as calf births increase, the market will become oversupplied within two years.
