Now in its 37th year, the scholarship will send two successful candidates who are interested in pursuing a fulltime career in agriculture to New Zealand to work and gain experience of the country's farming methods.

The initial deadline for applications to the scholarship was 9 April. This has now been extended to the 16 April.

The scholarship is open to any young farmer from the North or South of Ireland over 18 and under 30 years of age on 1 January 2015. Successful applicants will start the placement in July.
