The Connacht regional chair election remains deadlocked following Tuesday’s meeting of the executive council. The council were informed they had the right to decide by a two-thirds majority how to deal with a matter not provided for in the rules. While proposals were received from Roscommon and Sligo, it was decided not to change or adjust the rules to resolve the situation. A deadline of 27 March has been imposed for a solution to be found. It falls to the county chairs and candidates to find a way to leave one or two valid candidates.
Director general
