AgriKids/Zurich

AgriKids, supported by Zurich Insurance, will bring its nationwide roadshow to the Ploughing this year. AgriKids founder Alma Jordan will be on hand to deliver mini farm safety workshops to children on an array of topics and each workshop will last 15 minutes.

AgriKids is a farm safety educational platform, founded in 2015 following Ireland’s worst year on record for farm accidents in which 30 people died. Using creative and interactive apps, popular books and other learning materials, AgriKids has become a leading voice in promoting farm safety in Ireland.

UCD

If you are interested in pursuing a career in agriculture, then this is the stand for you. UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science has for years been one of the destinations for students in Ireland interested in developing their careers in the agri-food sector. Whether you are a Leaving Cert student, a mature student or even a parent looking to get some information for the kids who are busy studying, staff and students are available throughout the event to discuss future study plans and career opportunities. This will include the new BAgrSc in food business with Chinese studies programme, which will be officially launched at the Ploughing.

Visitors to the UCD exhibit can also hear about the latest developments taking place in research and innovation, participate in experiments and listen to a range of interesting talks and panel discussions.

UCD are also welcoming alumni to visit their exhibit to reconnect with old classmates, keep updated with news from UCD and to contribute to video testimonials that will provide an insight to prospective students on the wide range of career opportunities available to UCD School of Agriculture and Food Science graduates.

Whitfield Hospital

The team from Whitfield Hospital and UPMC Whitfield Cancer Centre are getting set for a return visit to Tullamore. Following the success of last year’s visit, they have doubled the size of their stand to offer even more to visitors. Located in the Health and Wellness area, the Whitfield Hospital and UPMC Whitfield Cancer Centre stand will show how and why they have been offering top-class healthcare in the southeast for over a decade.

It has been an exciting 12 months at Whitfield Hospital, which built a fifth theatre to keep up with increased patient demand. This is a real opportunity for the public to meet and question the team from Whitfield Hospital and UPMC Whitfield Cancer Centre.
