Michael Walsh died in hospital on Friday, after he was attacked by cows on his farm in Donaguile, Castlecomer, Co Kilkenny on 7 April. He was understood to have been in his 60’s.
The Irish Farmers Journal understands that his brother was also hospitalised after the attack which involved freshly-calved cows.
A spokesperson for the Health and Safety Authority confirmed that “after the accident we visited the site and began an investigation”. However, it has now become a fatal accident investigation.
