A man who was killed in a farm accident in Tyrone has been named locally as James Irwin. The accident occurred around 2pm on Sunday near Dungannon and involved a combine harvester.
A spokesperson for the Police Service in Northern Ireland (PSNI) said that they received a report of a sudden death of a man, aged in his 30's, at Rhone Road in Dungannon at approximately 2pm on Sunday. The Health and Safety Executive in Northern Ireland has been informed of the fatal incident.
This brings the total number of deaths from farm accidents in Northern Ireland to date this year to five. Last year, six deaths occurred as a result of accidents on NI farms.
