Farm safety: Young woman shares the story of her loss
Diane Banville from New Bawn, New Ross, lost her husband to a farm accident in 2014. She tells her tragic story in a new video released by Embrace FARM.
On St Patrick’s Day last year, Diane Banville and her two-year-old son, Ryan, found the body of her husband Kevin (33) after an accident on the farm. Their second son, Cillian, was only two weeks old and the couple were just about the celebrate their first wedding anniversary.
In the video, which is part of Embrace FARM's 'What's Left Behind' campaign, Diane speaks honestly and emotionally about her loss.
"Kevin wore his heart on his sleeve. Even days he was down on the farm he would come up with a bunch of daffodils for me. We got each other and I felt secure with Kevin. He was my rock.
