A farmer in his 50s has sustained gunshot-related injuries after an incident in Kildimo, Co Limerick, on Friday. The injuries are non-life threatening. He is being treated at University Hospital Limerick.
Another man in his 70s has been arrested and is being held at Newcastlewest Garda station under section 30 of the Criminal Justice Act.
Gardai are currently investigating the incident.

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that the two men had a falling out over access to land and that the farmer who sustained the injuries was in his tractor with his dog at the time.
The dog died from its injuries as a result of the shooting.
