A spokesperson for the Police Service of Northern Ireland confirmed this Saturday that a man aged in his 40s died in hospital from injuries sustained on Thursday afternoon.

The PSNI added that the incident took place in the Derrylin area of Co Fermanagh.

The Health and Safety Executive of Northern Ireland has been informed.

Last week, a young child was killed in a farm accident involving a front loader in Co Kilkenny.

Health and safety authorities north and south of the border have urged farmers to take extra caution during the busy summer months.
