Atkins held a demonstration day at Rath, Birr, Co Offaly, last Sunday. The event allowed farmers and contractors to sample a full range of Fendt equipment and tractors. There were 20 tractors on the site. There was a special area set up where you could use a tractor and loader combination and test your bale stacking skills.

There was also a dedicated GPS area with three tractors set up with full auto steer, Isobus and section control, with experts on hand to guide prospective customers through the systems and the advantages of precision guidance and control.

On what was a busy site, there was a dyno area where many of the 20 tractors were put through their paces to see if they were producing the correct level of power. The full range of grass equipment was also being used with one tedder, one rake, three balers, a Tigo wagon and a Katana forage harvester. These machines were the first of their kind in Ireland since the Agco purchase of Lely grass equipment.

Trevor Richardson of Atkins said that it had been a very successful day and they had up to 450 people through the site between 11am and 4pm.
