Fertilizer sales have eased this week as most farmers have the big volumes spread. Total volumes are expected to be down 10% on last season.

CAN is traded at under €320/t. However, most farmers are paying €325 to €345/t, with up to €355/t being asked for smaller quantities in the west. CAN + S is €5 to €10/t more expensive than CAN. Currency fluctuation is pushing up DAP-based products. 18:6:12 is on offer from €410/t cash on delivery with most paying €420 to €445/t. 27-2.5-5 is trading at €420 to €440 a tonne with 24:2.5:10 at €410 to €430/t.

Groups and individual volume purchasers continue to achieve significant discounts on officially quoted prices in addition to extended credit. Most merchants are deducting 15/t for CAN, with the bulk spreading price being charged at €27 to €30 /t.

The industry is continuing to push through price increases but is meeting strong resistance from farmers.
