With Easter upon us, the first quarter of 2017 is just over. In this period, machinery sales have slipped a little on 2016 performance.

In March, new tractor sales amounted to 190 v 213 in 2016, a drop of 23 units. The year-to-date performance sees a 17% drop in tractor sales over the same period in 2016. Historically, July has been the second-biggest month for tractor sales, and this should give a fairer reflection of the industry. The top five selling counties show Cork is still leading, with 90 units, followed by Tipperary (70), Galway (45), Wexford (45) and Kilkenny (40).
