Kverneland donates training equipment to IT Tralee

FTMTA member firm Kverneland Group Ireland Ltd recently donated ISOBUS training equipment to Institute of Technology Tralee. The institute is an affiliate member of FTMTA and is the centre of agricultural engineering and mechanisation education in Ireland.

In recent years, FTMTA and IT Tralee have collaborated on the development of the bachelor of science (agricultural mechanisation) course to deliver the high standard of training required by those intending to pursue a career with the farm machinery industry as agricultural service technicians.

The first cohort of students to enter the course are now in their third and final year and are on work placement with farm machinery businesses. The acquisition of modern equipment such as the ISOBUS trainer is vital to allow the college deliver the training required in a range of fast-developing technologies.
