Payment to up to 100 GLAS farmers is delayed because of missing or incomplete low emission slurry spreading (LESS) paperwork, according to the Department of Agriculture.

More than 400 commonage farmers have either not signed or have incorrectly completed their commonage management plan, which is delaying their GLAS payment.

GLAS money was issued to 130 farmers last Friday. That leaves 2,970 farmers still waiting for payment, or else waiting to be told that they are not eligible for the scheme.

Meanwhile, 1,166 farmers are still waiting for their 2016 AEOS payment. Some 7,474 AEOS participants have received in excess of €23.48m.
