24 March: The High Kings will bring their music to Glor in Ennis, Co Clare, this Friday 24 March. The constituent parts of The High Kings – Finbarr Clancy, Brian Dunphy, Martin Furey and Darren Holden – have a wealth of history in the music business. Their music brings equal feelings of reflectiveness, energy and thoughtfulness. The group is marking out a new and bright era for Irish folk music, and aiming to bring a broad demographic along. 25 March: The Saw Doctors will play their re-scheduled December date this Saturday 25 March at the INEC in Killarney. The lively band previously made it to number two in the Irish singles Christmas chart and also made it to number one in the iTunes charts. Foil Arms & Hog

25 March: Foil Arms and Hog come to the Black Box Theatre in Galway this Friday night. Foil Arms and Hog are Ireland’s top comedy sketch group. Called “Pure Brilliant” by Tommy Tiernan, they have over four million hits on YouTube and have sold out five shows at Dublin’s Vicar Street. With regular sketches on RTÉ, viral comedy hits like “How to Speak Dublin”, and over 70,000 online followers, Foil Arms and Hog have established themselves amongst the new breed of Irish comedy stars. Educating Rita

Starts 28 March: Educating Rita continues its tour of the Ireland at The Everyman, Co Cork, and runs from Tuesday 28 March to Saturday 1 April. Set in 1980, Susan ‘Rita’ White, a wise-cracking, no-nonsense hairdresser from the working-class streets of Belfast, wants change in her life. She enrols in an Open Learning course in English literature, where she meets her tutor Frank, who has his problems too. Kiss and cry

24 March: This is a romantic drama based on the story of Carley Allison, a promising 18-year-old figure skater and singer who made medical history in her fight against a rare one in 3.5 billion type of sarcoma. The story follows Carley’s emotional battle with cancer, her heart-warming relationship with her loving boyfriend, and her inspiring comeback to skating. The film starts Hollywood actors Brittany Bristow, Sarah Fisher and Sergio Di Zio and is released into Irish cinemas this Friday night. Critics have remarked on startling simplicity and intricate cleverness of the film as it conjures up entire worlds of bitter-sweet emotion.
