David Glimore

13 September: David Glimore Live at Pompeii will show in cinemas for one night only. The concert movie was filmed during the legendary Pink Floyd guitarist’s two July 2016 shows at the Pompeii Amphitheatre. Booked into more than 2,000 theatres worldwide on 13 September, the film is an audio-visual spectacle featuring lasers, pyrotechnics and a huge circular screen on which specially selected images will complement songs. The set list includes The Great Gig In The Sky, The Dark Side Of The Moon, What Do You Want From Me and Run Like Hell.

Music Against Homelessness

9 September: Taking place at the Empire Music Hall Belfast, this Music Against Homelessness gig features the bands Silences, Bassh and Mmode, while raising money for the Simon Community NI. The project aims to raise vital funds for homeless charities, while featuring up-and-coming bands. The Simon Community is a voluntary organisation that provides emergency accommodation, advice and support to people who are homeless or at risk of becoming homeless. Tickets start at £10. Paw Patrol

8-10 September: This is one the kids won’t want to miss – Paw Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue. Based on the hugely popular children’s show on Nickelodeon, everyone’s favourite pups take to the stage in an action-packed and high-energy performance. As in the television show, the musical emulates the format of sharing lessons for all ages about citizenship and problem solving, as the characters use their skills and teamwork. The show is a good introduction to live theatre for young children, with two acts and an intermission. Tickets start from €20 and can be purchased on www.bordgaisenergytheatre.ie.

East Cork Early Music

7 September: The East Cork Early Music Festival will hold a fundraiser – An Evening of Baroque Favourites – ahead of the festival in October. Taking place at the Curtis Auditorium in the Cork School of Music, the festival will feature some of Ireland’s favourite musicians, including violinist Keith Pascoe and harpsichordists Malcolm Proud and David Adams, along with the voices of young early music stars Simon MacHale, Clodagh Kinsella and Emma Power, who join the Cork Baroque Players. Enjoy a luxurious evening of beautiful music and a complimentary wine reception, while supporting the East Cork Early Music Festival, with all proceeds going directly to aid the festival in bringing high-quality concerts, musical education and outreach programmes to Cork.
