A tribute night in memory of Charley Heaslip will be held in the Carraig Springs, Crosskeys, Co Cavan, on Friday, 17 April starting at 8.30pm. A host of local musicians will entertain on the night, sharing music, song and memories. Charley, who had a great love for country music, died last July.

Monroe’s in Galway will host a show in aid of Croí, the West of Ireland Cardiology Foundation, tonight, Thursday 16 April. It starts at 9pm and features members of The Conquerors, Sean Keane, Ciaran Rosney, Simon Casey, Keith McDonald, Carmel Dempsey, Pete Gilroy, Brenda Curtin, and The Gold Diggers. Gary Fitzpatrick from Burnfoot in Donegal releases his new single this week. Under The Spell of Loving You is an original song written by Fergal Flaherty. Gary has been staging his one-man shows in the north west over the past few months. The song was produced by Brian Kerrigan at Harmony Recording Studios in Letterkenny and some top musicians are featured on this single.

Kathy Crinion continues to make new inroads into the country music scene. She was the recipient of accolades from both Irish Country Sound and the Leinster Entertainment awards in the space of three weeks. The Meath lady is in the process of recording a new album.

Vicky Kenny and Andreas Durkan have combined forces for a series of gigs. They performed their first show in McBride’s of Castlefin, Co Donegal, last Saturday. More shows to be announced.
