A country music night in support of Lily of the Valley, Nolan House, Rathdrum, takes place in the Arklow Bay Hotel on 26 July. The show will feature the Joe Davitt Country Band, with special guest Brian Lawlor. The event is being organised by Sandra O’Shaughnessy. All support is welcome.

Something Blue is the new single from Muriel O’Connor and Fran Curry. It was arranged and produced by Fran and is a delightful rework of the Neil Diamond classic.

Streets of Promise, a song composed by Candy Murphy of The Murphys, marks the recording debut of Shane Moore from Ballyforan in Roscommon. Shane performs on the regional circuit and lists his major influences as Declan Nerney, Mike Denver and Robert Mizzell.

Frank McCaffrey is playing a special hometown concert in Westport Town Theatre on 3 August. Tickets for the show are now on sale.

The 24th annual Bluegrass Festival takes place at the Ulster American Folk Park near Omagh from 4-6 September. Some top bands from America will adorn the festival, with others from Ireland, the UK, Canada and Europe all taking part in this highly acclaimed bluegrass music celebration.

London-based Caroline J Harte, with strong Sligo connections, has teamed up with Eamonn Kelly from Claremorris for a duet on Lost Love.

The annual Family Picnic Day in support of the Divine Word Missionaries will be held at Donamon Castle, Co Roscommon, on 26 July, starting with mass at 12.30pm. This will be followed by music from the Castlerea Brass and Reed Band, Patsy McCaul and Blue Country, The Heebie Jeebies, Busy Fingers, and The Conquerors.
