A lot of three April 2015-born Limousins weighing an average of 335kg sold for €860/head (€2.57/kg) while a Limousin that was one year older and weighing 550kg made €1,365 (2.48/kg). A March 2014-born Angus weighing 570kg went for €1,140 (€2.00/kg) while another Angus, of the same age and weighing 475kg, sold at €1,180 (€2.48/kg).
Prices in the heifer ring were not far off that, with plenty of continental types on offer. A February 2014-born Charolais heifer weighing 415kg went for €1,045 (€2.52/kg) and a much heavier April 2013-born Charolais weighing 710kg sold at €1,300 (€1.83/kg). A May 2014-born Limousin animal weighing 495kg sold for €1,305 (€2.64/kg) while a November 2014-born Limousin heifer weighing 348kg went for €870 (€2.50/kg).
