IFA executive council set to meet political party leaders
Following discussions with Taoiseach Enda Kenny last week, the IFA has announced an executive council meeting for next Wednesday to hear from the leaders of Fianna Fáil and Labour.
With the general election around the corner on 26 February, parties are becoming increasingly eager to pitch their campaign messages to farming voters.
The IFA has already presented its key farming concerns to Taoiseach Enda Kenny at an executive council meeting held last week. The organisation has now called a second meeting for next Wednesday with Fianna Fáil leader Micheál Martin and Labour leader Joan Burton.
Again, the council will address current agricultural issues and seek details from the politicians on their policies for agriculture and rural Ireland.
