The recent settling of prices following a very active April in terms of sales activity was evident, but good cattle still sold well.

Continental yearling bullocks sold well, with €2.40/kg available. Some of the stronger lots hit €2.90/kg.

Dairy cross yearlings sold from €2.15/kg up to €2.40 in exceptional cases.

Of the older bullocks on offer, forward stores were very much in demand with finishers.

Overall, Hereford and Angus bullocks sold from €250 to €650 with their weight, while continental bullocks made between €325 and €760 over the euro per kilo.

    These February 2016-born bullocks weighed an average of 353kg and sold for €645 each (€1.83/kg).

    These February 2016-born bullocks weighed an average of 268kg and sold for €630 each (€2.35/kg).

    These July 2016-born bullocks weighed an average of 370kg and sold for €840 each (€2.27/kg).

    These June 2015-born bullocks weighed an average of 460kg and sold for €1,090 each (€2.37/kg).

    These April 2016-born bullocks weighed an average of 343kg and sold for €730 each (€2.13/kg).

    These April 2016-born bullocks weighed an average of 328kg and sold for €875 each (€2.67/kg).

    Cows

    Fleshed dry cows continue to sell well, while cows needing more feeding were back slightly. Cows made between €60 and €705 over the euro per kilo.
