Weather forecast

It’s to be a wet day today, but there will be dry periods as well, in particular during the mornings, according to Met Éireann. Highest temperatures will range from 12°C to 15°C in fresh southerly winds. It will be rather wet and windy by night, with further spells of rain accompanied by blustery southerly winds.

The rain will turn more showery from the northwest overnight. It will be mild with minimum temperatures no lower than 8°C to 10°C.

In the news today

Under the milk reduction scheme money, €6.5m will start hitting farmers’ bank accounts this week. Gardaí have been accused of ‘‘hassling’’ tractor drivers and over 1,500 farmers in AEOS II and III are still waiting on their payments.
