Remaining rain in eastern areas, still heavy in places early on, will clear eastwards during the morning, according to Met Eireann.

Brighter skies with a mix of sunshine and showers are forecast to follow in from the west.

Some of the showers could be heavy, with a slight risk of thunder. Highest temperatures will range between 16 to 21 degrees in light winds.

There is mild and humid conditions forecast for Tuesday night, with mist and fog likely to develop in near calm conditions.

It will be largely dry, but there will be showers, mainly in coastal areas. Lowest temperatures will vary between 10 to 12 degrees.
