Cool and bright this morning with heavy showers over the western half of the country but generally dry to the east. Cloud will increase in the afernoon and more showery rain will extend eastwards during the evening. Highest temperatures today around 12 or 13 degrees in light breezes.

Showery rain will continue for a time tonight but will then slowly clear from the west. Cool overnight with lowest temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees and ground frost will occur in places. Fog will also develop in some parts of the country.
