The 2019 Teagasc National Equine Conference titled ‘Addressing Opportunities’ will take place at the Castletroy Park Hotel, Co Limerick on Thursday 14 November.
Six top speakers will take to the floor over the course of the afternoon, with registration opening at 1:15pm. The speakers are: veterinary surgeon Marcus Swail, KWPN Breeding Director Ralph van Venrooij, international event rider Kate Rocher-Smith, Richard Bourns of Bourns Sport Horses, Richard Sheane of Cooley Farm and Belgium stud manager and sales manager Harrie Theeuwes.
The opening discussion at the conference will provide a situation update and address the key challenges of Brexit, this will be delivered by Dr Kevin Hanrahan, Head of Rural Economy and Development Programme with Teagasc.

Marcus Swail will follow on from this with his talk on a veterinary perspective on the pre-purchase examination. In session two Teagasc’s Wendy Conlon will chair a panel discussion between Rocher-Smith, Sheane and Swail.
The third session will look at a new era for on-farm renewables from Dr Mary Ryan and Barry Caslin of Teagasc. Dr Noel Cawley will chair the final panel discussion between Bourns, Venrooij and Theeuwes.
