According to the latest figures, Italian and Spanish milk collections for October have fallen once again after Europe recorded an overall drop in milk production in September this year compared with 2015.

This is the third fall this year in Italian milk collections, which was down 2% on October 2015 according to figures released by AGEA last week. However, collections have remained ahead by 0.5% of the three-year average for October. The figures show a 2.7% increase in Italian milk production, at 9.59m tonnes, to the end of October compared with last year.

Similarly, figures from Spain show that while October collections are down 1% on last year, there is a 1.9% increase year to date. Total milk collections for the year so far in Spain stand at 5.78m tonnes.

Meanwhile, in Ireland, November milk supply has shown an increase compared with the previous two months.
