Aurivo, LacPatrick, Glanbia Milk and Fivemiletown have all announced they will increase their June milk price by 1p/litre, matching the price increase from the other processors in Northern Ireland.

This puts Aurivo on a June base price of 27p/litre. Glanbia Milk and Fivemiletown are on a base of 26.4p/litre plus their year round 0.6p/litre supply bonus, effectively bringing them to an all-in base of 27p/litre, and matching Aurivo.

LacPatrick announced their price on Tuesday afternoon and the 1p/litre increase brings them to a base of 26.5p/litre. Last week, Lakeland announced they were raising their base price for June from 25.5p to 26.5p/litre. Strathroy Dairy added 1p/litre to bring their June price to 27p/litre. Glanbia Cheese increased their June base price from 25.75 to 26.75p/litre, while Dale Farm are on a base of 27.3p/litre which includes their 0.3p/litre loyalty bonus.

A full round of milk prices will be featured in next week’s June milk price league.

This week’s GDT auction saw a slight increase of 0.2% bringing the index price to US $3,387/tonne. At current exchange rates, the auction price converts to an approximate farm gate price of 28p to 29p/litre when factoring in processing costs.

After a flat auction earlier this month, butter rebounded with a 3.4% increase lifting prices to $6,004/tonne. Whole milk powder rose by 0.3% to $2,387/t and accounted for almost 50% of the product traded.

Skim milk powder fell by 3.2% to $2,024/t. At current exchange rates, SMP price converts to €1,755/t leaving it hovering just above intervention price.
