Keenan’s, a family owned company founded by the late Richard Keenan in 1978 and whose son Gerard is the current CEO, employs approximately 200 people at its Borris, Co Carlow base.
The company built its first Keenan mixer wagon in 1983. At its peak, Keenan's manufacturered 2,500 machines per year

The Irish Farmers Journal understands that Gerard Keenan has been in advanced negotiations this week regarding the sale of the Keenan company.
We also understand that the company will continue to manufacture mixer wagons under a different ownership should a deal go through.
