Lacken Machinery based in Lacken, New Ross, Co Wexford, is expected to close within weeks.

Members of the Kelly family from Borris are directors of the company, which was established in 1985. It has been confirmed to the Irish Farmers Journal that Brian Roche, a director and manager at Lacken Machinery, has taken on a management role at Kelly’s of Kilkenny.

Kelly’s, which opened in 1990 and is based at Hebron Industrial Estate, Hebron Road, Kilkenny, will continue the Challenger, Valtra, McHale, Malone, JCB, Sulky, Redrock,Twose and Horsch brands and will service the southeast region.

The move from Kelly’s is seen as consolidating the business into three branches in Borris, Kilkenny and the recently opened Abbeyleix. The changes coincide with the departure of Killian Griffith to Kuhn Center Ireland from Kelly’s of Kilkenny.
