Kerry Group

Kerry Group is the largest food and ingredients company on the Irish stock exchange, valued at over €11bn. It employs more than 24,000 people globally, so it should come as no surprise that Kerry filled 800 positions in Ireland alone in 2016. This was a mix of replacement hires and newly created roles.

Positions filled were in the areas of HR, ICT, manufacturing, marketing, R&D, sales, regulatory, commercial finance, financial control and customer services, while general operatives and 45 graduates were also hired.

Some roles were filled in Kerry due to retirements.

Glanbia

Glanbia took on 65 graduates in 2016 and has launched the next phase of its Pure Ambition graduate programme, which will create 50 new positions in areas such as accounting and finance, IT, digital media, engineering, procurement, supply chain, marketing, human resources along with food, nutritional and agricultural science. At the time of going to press, there were 153 jobs on Glanbia’s website, which included several positions at its plant in Illinois. Glanbia’s performance nutrition headquarters (which employs 200 people), and the manufacturing facilities for the performance nutrition products is located on the outskirts of Chicago.

Some of the roles being recruited for there include manager of pricing, product development manager, graphic designer and senior accountant. Glanbia is also recruiting a graphic designer and a senior sales manager in Shanghai, an innovation technologist in Florida, a technician in South Carolina, a sales executive in Auckland, New Zealand, and an accountant in Dublin. Other dairy positions

Aurivo

Aurivo took on 40 people in 2016. Most of the positions were replacements of staff either leaving or moving on to other positions. Positions filled included brand and communications manager, receptionist, retail sales assistants, trainee managers, graduates and general operatives. Aurivo expects to hire approximately 40 people in 2017 as well. Positions the company expects to recruit for in 2017 include retail sales assistants, trainee managers, graduates, general operatives and farm commercial specialists. Aurivo employs 600 people altogether.

Donegal Investment Group

Donegal Investment Group recruited 20 people in 2016. Ten of these positions were newly created, while many of the replacement positions were in the finance, food science and production departments. In terms of recruitment for 2017, the company can’t confirm as of yet, but will replace positions that arise. Donegal Investment Group employs 270 people altogether, 20 of whom work internationally.

Ornua fills more roles

Ornua, which employs 1,900 people globally, filled a significant number of roles this year, some of which were replacement hires while others newly created positions. The roles that were filled varied across all disciplines including sales and marketing, finance, HR, supply chain, procurement, technical, innovation, regulatory, IT and communications. Ornua expects to have sizeable employment in 2017 across all disciplines.
