Kerry and Glanbia have decided to hold their base milk price for June after cutting it by 1c/l last month. Glanbia suppliers are losing the effect of last month's Ornua top-up.
Kerry has left its June milk price at the May level of 21.4c/l excluding VAT.
The Glanbia Ingredients Ireland (GII)'s base price remains at 19c/l excluding VAT for manufacturing milk at 3.6% fat and 3.3% protein. Glanbia co-op also maintains its 2c/l support to members. The 1c/l bonus paid from Ornua funds last month, however, is now gone.
Yesterday, Ornua announced that its Purchasing Price Index (PPI) for June is remaining unchanged at 81.0 (equivalent to 22.5 c/l, VAT inclusive, based on Ornua's product purchase mix and assumed processing costs of 6.5p/l).
The remaining co-ops will be setting prices in the coming days.
