Kubota is gearing up for Ploughing 2014. This year has been a landmark one for Kubota as it celebrates 35 years in the British and Irish markets.

The company’s popular M Series fleet takes centre stage, with its M60 range and the MGX Series among some of the highlights that will be seen on stand 240 row 18.

Kubota’s M60 series, which includes the M6060, M7060, M8560 and M9960, boasts a four-cylinder C-CDIS engine, eco-drive functionality for fuel efficiency and a category II three-point linkage with a lift capacity of up to 4,100kg for the largest model in the range. The 60-99hp models also feature advanced fully synchronised transmission, PTO technology and high-performance hydraulics.

The M135GX and the M110GX tractors feature an advanced turbo-charged four-cylinder CRS diesel engine. The MGX Series has a three-range, eight-speed powershift transmission. It also boasts a spacious cab design. In addition, the M135GX features a three-stage front-axle suspension.

Kubota will also use the event to exhibit some of its high-performance mini-excavators from its KX and U Series; machines which continue to dominate the market. There will also be the latest models from the Kubota UTV range, useful diesel-powered farm workhorses.

Kubota business and development manager Adrian Langmead said: “It’s an exciting time for Kubota globally, as the company prepares to enter a significant period of investment and product development.

“Here in the UK and Ireland, such an investment will have a huge impact on our business so now is the time to ensure we strengthen relationships with existing customers and build foundations with potential new ones.”

Emission lead

Kubota’s diesel engines between 70hp and 165hp (56 and 130kW) have recently received certification for CARB Tier 4 final emissions regulations.

The next emissions regulations for non-road diesel engines with an output range between 56 and 130 kW will come into effect in north America in January 2015.

Kubota’s diesel engines are in compliance with the latest emission regulations. These engines have been certified by the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the European Union (EU) and most recently by the California Air Resources Board (CARB).

They will be installed in Kubota brand tractors and construction machinery. The engines will be fitted to construction and industrial machinery from October 2014.

Tier 4 Final and Stage IV are very stringent emission regulations.

They require NOx (nitrogen oxide) reduction by about 90% in comparison with the current regulations. Kubota has adopted selective catalytic reduction (SCR) for NOx reduction.

Together with the Diesel Particulate Filter (DPF) and Diesel Oxidation Catalyst (DOC), Kubota claims to have developed the integrated technology and system to comply with the latest regulations.

Kubota has maintained its compact design with these new engine models and in some cases has even increased the output compared to previous engine models.

247 Lighting brightens up Ploughing
