Deltis 2 Sprayer

This new sprayer was developed and designed for farmers looking for simplicity, reliability and safe use. The new Deltis 2 is designed to replace the current DELTIS range; the DELTIS 2 features many changes:

Its new chassis design is both robust and lightweight, making it one of the lightest sprayers in this market segment.

  • The new tank design enables it to hold up to 1,300 L. Draining is also made easier even on steep hillsides, thanks to its double-slope deep sump.
  • It integrates the Manuset or Diluset+ start-up with only two main valves for an intuitive use and a limited number of handling operations. This means 30% to 50% fewer handling operations.
  • A wide range of steel and aluminium booms with a width of 15 to 24 m are available.
  • The Deltis 2 uses the previous generation Optilift parallelogram, which ensures vertical stability together with a suspension in the field and on the road.
  • Kuhn are aware that increased safety when handling plant protection products is a necessity, so the Deltis 2 sprayer integrates a new patented incorporator called Optifiller. Made from long-lasting material that withstands the most aggressive products, it is the first flexible incorporator built into a sprayer. This incorporator has a volume of 42 litres when it is unfolded and fits fully within the frame of the sprayer when folded. It features a wide opening making it easy and convenient to use large containers, as well as a hand-held lance for safe and rapid rinsing.

As with the other models of the range, the active material in the tank is incorporated using foot action, so the operator does not need to bend toward the incorporator filled with product.

Unveiled for the first time at SPACE 2016 in Rennes, the Deltis 2 is available for sale from September 2016.

    GA Series 4 Rotor Rakes

With a variable working width of between 8.40m and 12.50m for the GA 13131 and between 9.50m and 14.70m for the 15131 rakes, this makes these models the biggest machines in the Kuhn rake range today.

The two new models GA 13131 and GA 15131 of have been developed with ISOBUS software which gives farmers the possibility to operate the machine using ISOBUS terminals already present on their tractors or via a Kuhn terminal (VT 50 or CCI 200). All functions concerning folding / unfolding, windrow width adjustment, working width, raking height and plot management are controlled from the cab via the ISOBUS terminal. The use of a joystick is also possible to optimize the ease of operation.

Manoeuvre sequencing is also programmable and provides a high degree of operating comfort for U-turns on headlands. To finish the plot, the rotors can be lifted individually or simultaneously. The headstock linked to the frame has a hydraulic unit, so machine drive is always in line, even in tight bends. Each rotor is driven hydraulically, so the constraint of greasing numerous transmissions is removed. According to forage type and density, front rotor rotation speed can be accelerated from the tractor cab in order to enhance windrow formation.

Switching between transport and work position requires no arm or guard removal or manipulation as the road height remains under 4m when folded.

3D rotor suspension mount and wheels closely positioned to the tines further improve ground following. The Stablift system, that locks the rotors in position for windrow clearance and transport, as well as the pivoting wheels, contribute to the protection of plant cover on headlands and on bends. Operating comfort can be increased even further with the camera and LED headlights that are available as an option.

These rakes will be available this autumn with a price tag in the region of €70,000 + Vat.

Front mounted disc mowers GMD 3125 F and GMD 3525 F

Kuhn is expanding their range of front-mounted mowers with the new GMD 3125 F (3.10 m) and 3525 F (3.50 m) machines that have been added to the existing 2.80 m and 3.10 m models. Designed for solo operations or for use in combination with rear-mounted mowers up to 4.40 m or triple mowers, they can reach working widths of almost 10 m.

The new front GMD 3125 F and 3525 F are equipped with 2 rotating drums which keep the forage flow centered between the tractors front wheels

New kinematics provide vertical travel of nearly 70 cm to help improve ground following and adaptation to different types of front tractor-lift systems.

Lift control hydraulic suspension with adjustable pressure allows for fast adaptation to mowing conditions. This system reduces ground pressure, protects plant cover, keeps fuel consumption down and reduces wear.

These new front-mounted GMDs come with Optidisc maintenance free cutter bars with different center to center distances, ensuring quality mowing in varying conditions.

Protectadrive safety protects the mechanical parts should they come up against an obstacle. For reduced down-time and lower maintenance costs, they have fast fit knives, a maintenance free cutter bar and safety system on the mower disc hubs.

With these two new models, KUHN now has 6 front-mounted disc mower models adapted to all types of farms and all tractor types.

Kuhn Mounted mowers get new Lift Control suspension

The FC 244, FC 284 and FC 314 models, with respective working widths of 2.40m, 2.80m and 3.10m as well as the GMD 2811, GMD 3111, GMD 3511, GMD 4011 and GMD 4411 models, with respective working widths of 2.67m, 3.10m, 3.50m, 3.95m and 4.35m are equipped with the new LIFT CONTROL suspension that combines a homogeneous floatation, a pendulum-type articulation and an active Non Stop safety, without the need for an adjustment tool. There are many benefits: no time loss due to settings or the release of the safety. Key components are protected in case of hitting an obstacle thanks to the mowing unit raising and rearward pivot. The machine’s service life is optimized despite the high stresses linked to the ever increasing working speed. The harvested crop is clean owing to the impeccable ground following. Its nutritional value is preserved. This managed floatation also contributes to reducing fuel consumption and skid wear.

    Kuhn introduce new butterfly mowers

In the pursuit for higher output from mowing operations, using tractors that are not necessarily high-powered, Kuhn has introduced two new rear-mounted mowers, GMD 9530 and GMD 10030. With working widths of 9.53 m and 9.93 m respectively, they constitute a comprehensive range with the existing GMD 8730.

    Their main features:

  • Vertical folding for transport, preventing large, rear offset, reducing overhang and also making it possible to use the machine with medium-sized tractors.
  • Lift Control and articulated pendulum joint system make ground following easier, provide optimum cut height, simplified height control settings, reduced fuel consumption and less wear to the skids.
  • Should a mower unit meet an obstacle, it can shift to rear and lift up. It then uses the Non Stop system to return to work position. The pivot point near the center of the machine protects the mower unit, even if the leading discs hit an obstacle.
  • To ensure a clean cut, the driver can adjust working width any time, as well as overlap with the front-mounted mower.
  • The machine’s vertical folding position saves space for winter storage.
  • The GMD 9530 model is mainly designed to work with a 3.10 m front-mounted mower and the GMD 10030 with the GMD 3525 F front-mounted mower, whose working width is 3.50 m.

These mowers will be available from this autumn with prices yet to be confirmed.
