Offaly man Dave Lawlor will celebrate a special night in The Well in Moate on Tuesday 21 February. The night will mark the reunion of Dave’s outfit of former times, The Nostalgia Band, and they are truly aptly named for the night that lies ahead.

Dave burst on to the scene in the late 1980s with the powerful delivery of big ballads his main forte. They were show-stoppers for the young man from Tullamore who scooped the top prize at a major New Talent Show in the Midas Club, Ballyhaunis, which attracted entrants from all over the country. Soon after, Dave and The Nostalgia Band were touring the country, delivering class performances and delighting a generation of dancers.

“People go their own way and it is not easy to get the right time to put a show like this together,” says Dave. “The time seems right now for a big night and it will be great to be back on stage with the lads again. We are all looking forward to the night in The Well.”

Moate man Liam Claffey says they are pleased to see the reunion happen. “It has been talked about for some years. They launched in The Well in Moate 25 years ago so it really will be a special occasion to see them back in the same venue.”

Joining Dave and The Nostalgia Band will be country singer Matt Leavy from Meath and Olivia Douglas from Ferbane, the talented country singer and traditional musician who is enjoying a high profile in recent times. Also on the bill is Colin Kenny, a young Offaly country singer who recently performed a guest spot with Tony Christie during his short Irish tour.

The show gets under way at 8.30pm and tickets are just €10. For more details on the show and overnight accommodation, contact The Well on 087-694 8827 or The Grand Hotel on 0906-481 104.
