Forget Next Top Model, it was all about top tubers as Cork woman Siobhan Magner was crowned GIY and Bord Bia’s national Spud Off champion for 2015. The competition was launched in May to encourage people from all across the country to grow, cook and eat potatoes, with 15 local winners going forward to the national taste test final at GROWFest in Waterford. Siobhan is originally from Killavullen, but now lives in Cork city, where she grows her potatoes in the back garden.
