DEAR SIR:

Thank you for publishing the article by Colm McCarthy (18 February) on the proposed site for the National Children’s Hospital as this decision potentially affects every family in Ireland, directly or indirectly.

It is also of particular interest to people who are living in rural Ireland as this is the one, and one only, tertiary facility.

I wrote to the Irish Farmers Journal regarding this topic last spring, just before planning for part of the brief was announced and I have continued to lobby because even at half the price, the hospital (at St James’s) would still be in the wrong place.

I could go on and on.
