The meat-free mince is being recalled due to the presence of small pieces of blue plastic, according to a statement from the Food Safety Authority of Ireland (FSAI).

All batches of the 454g pack size, irrespective of the best before date, are to be recalled. The product originates from a United Kingdom supplier who also supplies products to Waitrose and Ocado. These companies have also had to pull other meat-free mince products from their shelves as they may also contain pieces of blue plastic.

Point of sales recall notices will be displayed in all Lidl stores, according to the FSAI.
